Calligraphy is a visual art related to writing. It is the design and execution of lettering with a broad tip instrument or brush in one stroke. A contemporary calligraphic practice can be defined as "the art of giving form to signs in an expressive, harmonious, and skillful manner."

The artistic way the letters are written piqued my interest enough that I decided to join the workshop and know more about it. The Modern Calligraphy workshop was conducted by Katrina Alana at People's Park Center, Chinatown. A 2-hour activity of getting to know the basic writing kit, practicing the basic strokes, and getting ink stains on our hands. Indeed, there's so much more to learn about this art and it entails practice to get that artsy design that you want.

I am always a fan of breakfast and brunch dates. It gives me a different feeling of excitement. 

Big breakfast, waffle, french toast, bacon, sausage, and all kinds of coffee are just several that the brekky list. 

Tiong Bahru, one of the oldest residential streets in Singapore, is famous for book stores, cafes, and vintage trinket shops. This place offers a number of restaurants serving brunch, and Open Door Policy is our pick for that weekend. 

ODP boasts of great food & drinks in a buzzy atmosphere, with friendly and intimate service to make you feel at home. True to their word indeed. They have a brunch menu available only on Saturdays and Sundays, and their full lunch/dinner menu is available daily. Here's what we got off their brunch menu.
